Nielsen Racing arrives at Le Mans

After a mixed third round in Paul Ricard for the team, Nielsen Racing will be looking to build on a season-best result for the #10 of Rob Hodes and Garett Grist as the Le Mans Cup returns to France a third time this year for the championship’s blue riband event: Road To Le Mans. Bringing silverware back to base is the focus for Nielsen’s #7 pairing of Colin Noble and Tony Wells.

For the first time ever, the team will also enter the main event of the weekend: the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020 – the team’s reward for claiming champion status from their 2019/20 Asian Le Mans campaign.

“We think I had the best [lap time] average in the last race, which is awesome! I like racing in the wet but I don’t like racing in THAT much rain, but I guess it’s good practice for what could be at Le Mans. Overall, the car was good in Paul Ricard and Rob did a really good job, the team did a good job – but Rob especially was good! Making him stay out on the slicks in the pouring rain was a big turning point for the race. It was massive for our strategy! With the times he was able to run we would have lost more coming in to pit him for two laps. Rob did a really good job, so hopefully that boosted his confidence ahead of the next races.”
